Children of God A dear friend of mine wrote me today about an argument he had with someone who doubted whether we human beings are actually Children of God. It appears that there are a great deal of people who just can't believe that the human race with all of its hatred, war, and violence could ever in any way be God's Children.

I was thinking about this for part of the day. Are we God's Children? Then I saw a person open the door for a man in a wheelchair and I had to answer yes.

Then I saw two beautiful little girls playing hide and seek behind their mother's legs and I had to say definitely yes. Then I saw a motorist stranded on the road and two cars already stopped to help her and I had to exclaim yes. Then I thought about all the people I know who have dedicated their lives to helping others and I had to shout yes. Then I felt my daughter's hug, heard my son say, "I love you, Dad", and saw my other son's bright smile and shining eyes and I had to proclaim with every fiber of my being Yes, Yes, Yes!

We are Children of God. We are beings of light and love. We are angels hiding in the bodies of human beings. The problem is that some of us just forget this. If only the whole world could remember who they really are what a glorious place this world would be.

We are all God's Children and God loves each and everyone of us. God loves us so much that He has given us the divine power to choose, create, and share what we most want in this world: love, joy, peace, and happiness. God loves us so much that He has given us the ability to make our lives and this world a paradise if we choose to. Earth, after all, is only Heaven in disguise.

The real question then isn't whether we are God's Children, but what kind of Children are we going to be. Let us all be Children of light, love, and joy the way God meant for us to be.
