A Chorus of Joy

When I went outside this morning I was greeted with something that I hadn't heard in a long time. It was the sweet music of birdsong and it lifted my heart in joy to hear it again. I had missed that beautiful music all through the Winter and hearing it now welcoming the coming Spring filled me with delight. There were dozens of different birds each singing their own individual songs and yet they blended together perfectly. They sung of love, joy, and rebirth. They sung of beauty, happiness, and light. They sung of goodness, glory, and oneness with God. It was a concert that brought peace to the soul and happiness to the mind. I felt so blessed to be able to hear it.
Sometimes I think that we are like those birds who greeted the morning with such zest and bliss. Each of us is different. Each of us has our own song to sing in this life. Still, when we go deep enough into our souls we see that the source of all our songs is the same. It is the love, joy, and light within us that is our music. It is our music that we must share with the world. Our music is our gift from God and the song we choose to sing is our gift to each other. They may all be different, but they come from the same love, joy, and God. They may all be unique but they blend together perfectly.
Don't be afraid to sing your song then. Don't be afraid to share the music that is within you right now. Your song may not be what the rest of the world sings, but God will see to it that it blends together wonderfully with the others to create a chorus of love and joy. Let your music out and bless this world with the unique song that you have been given. I know that the world will delight in hearing it.
