Her heart beats so quietly within the Earth today
That few of Her children hear it,
Yet unselfishly She continues to supply us all
With the food and water we need to live
And sacrifices Herself and Her health
So that her children might live the lives
They want to live.
If someone would ask most of them if they'd
Hold a loaded gun to their birth mother's head
And pull the trigger,
Most would wince away at the thought
And ask us why we ask such a sick question.
What they don't understand is
That is exactly what they are doing,
With their treatment of the land.
On this Mother's Day
I'd ask all who can, to put the money away
Stop buying gifts you know are even second rate
To your birth mother
And take your mother for a ride
Out on the land
To visit the Mother of us all
Earth mother.
Take the time to be quiet enough to hear
Her heartbeat
Our heartbeats.
And most of all
Don't forget to wish Her a Happy Mother's Day
And thank Her for providing us all
With another year of life!
