Have you ever experienced the feeling that it is easy to speak of your spiritual beliefs just about any place other than Church? Do you have a comfortable one-on-one relationship with your Heavenly Father which is hampered by the judgmental attitudes of others should you speak of God in any language other than the local version of "churcheeze".
If we know God has accepted us; that we are a Child of the King, then we will be guided and shaped by His instructions, not by the opinions of those around us. We must be firm in our desire to follow the Father's guidance, to obey His urgings without concern. We must be firm in our belief that our own failure to understand will be corrected by the Father; that He will not let us fail if we are sincerely seeking His truth.
Accept me as a child of God even though I may seem strange to you.
Give me the freedom to worship in my own way as long as I am not disrespecting your right to worship in your own way.
Give me the freedom to follow God’s urgings as I understand them, realizing He will turn me around without outside human assistance.
Be not my judge; judge not the differences among the body of believers.
Seek to learn from the diversity within the community for those differences can fine-tune our own spiritual perceptions.
Developing true friendships with people of different ethnic backgrounds and learning about their culture's effect on their journey toward a personal relationship with God, helps me gain better understandings of my own journey. It helps me see we all have so much in common.
