I honestly think the Creator

Should have made some of us birds!

If not, then why is it

That when I'm near a cliff, any cliff,

I automatically raise my arms

As if they were wings

To catch the wind

Blowing up the cliff face?

Why is it that I have such a strong urge

To just lay out on the wind

And float on it

As if it were a pillow?

Then, fold my arms to my sides

And streak downwards

At a deafening speed

Towards the valley floor

And pull up at the last moment

Soaring just above the tree tops

AND SMILE-

A happy satisfied smile!

I can't seem to achieve

A smile like that any other way-

Not in this life!

I honestly think the Creator

Should have made some of us birds!
